Update on Fungal Disease in Our Community

An update on some of the fungal infections we have seen in our community including diagnostics and therapy.
Speaker: Melissa Herrera
Melissa Herrera, DVM, DACVIM is a board certified Veterinary Internal Medicine Specialist. She received her Bachelors of Science degree in Biology from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1999. She went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Mississippi State University in 2003 followed by a small animal rotating internship and then completion of the Small Animal Internal Medicine residency program at UC Davis in 2007. Dr. Herrera became board certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2007.

A consummate educator, Dr. Herrera joined the faculty at UC Davis as an Assistant Professor from 2007 to 2009. She moved to Ventura in 2010 continuing to share her knowledge and expertise as a Veterinary Internist. Dr. Herrera is also published in several veterinary medical journals and textbooks for her knowledge and work on adrenal tumors, immune-mediated diseases, immunosuppressive medications and more. She also has a particular interest in infectious disease, endocrinology, and nephrology.

This meeting will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at the Pierpont Inn in Ventura. Please sign up by Tuesday noon, June 12, 2018 to get the meal option of your choice. Signups after Tuesday will not be taken online. If you are not a member, or not current on your dues, you will not be allowed to sign up. Please contact Dr. Saur for any membership or dues questions, as he is responsible for all accounting and membership information on this website.

Attendance for meetings is veterinary members only. Don’t forget to pay your dues to S.B.V.V.M.A.

Meal #4: (veggie) - Vegetable Wellington Zucchini, Yellow Squash, Roasted Peppers, Mushrooms and Mozzarella Served in a Puff Pastry
Meal #5: (vegan) - Same as Meal #4
