Updates in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation: the RECOVER guidelines.

Meeting Date (All Meetings start at 7:30 PM):
Virginia Frauenthal, DVM, DACVECC

Less than 6% of dogs and cats that experience cardiopulmonary arrest (CPA) survive to hospital discharge, whereas the survival rate in humans is over 20%. In order to address the discrepancy in survival rates, the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ACVECC) and Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society (VECCS) recently developed standardized guidelines and training for CPR in our veterinary patients. Dr. Frauenthal’s presentation will include an in-depth review of the evidence-based RECOVER CPR guidelines, including Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Post-Cardiac Arrest Care. The objective of this presentation is to aid Veterinarians and their staff members in updates on CPR in order to improve survival rates among their most critical patients.

This meeting will be held on Thursday, Feburary 8, 2018 at the Pierpont Inn in Ventura. Please sign up by Tuesday noon, Feb 6, 2018 to get the meal option of your choice.
