Robert Dufort, DVM, DACVIM will be giving a talk on "Diagnostic Update for Practioners-case studies". This meeting is sponsored by IDEXX will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2016.

Utilizing patient case studies and employing a case-based diagnostic and therapeutic approach, this presentation will highlight some interesting and challenging small animal medicine cases. The importance of the minimum data base for evaluating such cases will be addressed. In addition, some exciting new innovative diagnostic tests will be discussed. Participants will review laboratory data including hematology, biochemical profiles, urinalyses and other tests such as imaging studies. Treatment and monitoring protocols will be reviewed for each case.

Objectives / Discussion Topics:
• Review the importance of and the components of the minimum data base.
• Interpret results of the minimum data base and determine what other diagnostic testing is necessary for each case.
• Discuss some innovative new diagnostic tools.
• Discuss treatment options and monitoring protocols for each case.Meal Options:

Meal #3: (fish) - Grilled Atlantic Salmon with Lemon Lavender Basil/Roasted Red Pepper Cream Sauce Served with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Seasonal Vegetables

Meal #4: (veggie) - Vegetable Wellington Zucchini, Yellow Squash, Roasted Peppers, Mushrooms and Mozzarella Served in a Puff Pastry

Meal #5: (vegan) - Same as Meal #4
